Old Camping Equipment
Monday, August 31st, 2009I was staying with my in-laws at the weekend and it was a lovely warm weekend for a change. My father in la decided to play tents with my children and we spent a good half an hour putting up an old tent in the garden. He kept saying how fantastic he thought it was but compared to the pop up tent that I was looking at the other day it looked positively prehistoric! Not only did it have pretty decent canopies to keep the rain off, which he thought was a fantastic idea, it also had rotten rubber bands for the pegs to hammer into… to keep it on the ground. I know nothing about camping and have never done it, but to me it looked like a very poor design and was also not at all spacious. The children has been talking about camping in the garden with their Grandpa but now I have seen the tent I am not so sure it is such a good idea. I have seen some really cheap tents around at the moment, I guess festival season is upon us and many festival goers want a cheap tent they can leave behind and some of those would be much more suitable.
